What Patients are Saying About a Ketogenic Lifestyle
Hard Road Biking in a Fasted State
“I had planned on doing a nice-‘n-easy, out-&-back Verdi loop on the road bike with my buddy yesterday. I’d had quite a high-volume and high-intensity week in terms of bike riding, so I’d planned on an active recovery ride for Sunday.
As it so often happens, a few other dudes decided to join in on the ride, and it pretty quickly turned into a 50-ish mile ‘prove-your-strength’ ride with about 4000ft of hard climbing.
Since the original plan was to take ‘er easy, we left around 12:15, and I hadn’t eaten since 6:00pm the night prior.
Never have I ever stress tested my level of fat adaptation to such a significant extent until yesterday, so once I realized my easy ride wasn’t going to be so easy, I was kinda nervous I’d ‘bonk’.
Such a bonk in energy never happened though…
I was well over 16hrs into a fasted state, and I absolutely CRUSHED the ride! I had seemingly endless energy - both in terms of sustained AND short power efforts. And, not only was I stronger than everyone else, but I didn’t have to bother with the steady stream of sugary ‘sport’ drinks and insulin-spiking bars the rest of the guys were putting down over the course of the ride.
I got home and continued to feel great! No bonking to speak of, no feeling totally buried, no feeling like I overdid it when I woke up today.
I’ve believed in the ketogenic, fat-adapted lifestyle since I started working with you, but yesterday’s impromptu ‘race-ride’ in a fasted state was such a stark and unwaveringly obvious manifestation of its benefits, I thought I’d share the anecdote with ya.”

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
